The Miami Public School system serves 2,484 students, pre-school through 12th grade. There are 5 elementary schools, 1 kindergarten center, 1 junior high, 1 senior high and 1 alternative school. These schools are accredited by the Oklahoma State Department and the North Central Association. There are two private schools located in Miami: Mt. Olive Lutheran School and Green Country Christian School. Both schools offer classes for K-3 through 6th grade.Our school system has 167 teachers employed. Northeastern Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical College is also located in Miami at 200 I Street NE. Each semester, an average of approximately 2,000 students from states across the nation and countries throughout the world enroll in its classes. NEO is fully accredited by our own state institutions and by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The college offers associate degrees in arts, science and applied science, as well as numerous one and two-year certificate programs.
